mp3DirectCut is a fast and extensive audio editor and recorder for compressed mp3. You can directly cut, copy, paste or change the volume with no need to decompress your files for audio editing. This saves encoding time and preserves the original quality, because nothing will be re-encoded. The built in recorder creates mp3 on the fly from your audio input. Using Cue sheets, pause detection or Auto cue you can easily divide long files. I think that this is a bad program because with some songs I couldn't cut the end where the error is. I tried more programs to cut MP3 songs and I found
only one good program Audacity. It's a little bit
complicated to use but if you know how it works it's really a very good program.

Just looked at this, and it clearly says there is no uninstall needed, just DELETE the files.

nice BUT

no de-install routine
no autosave

-> program crashed after 1 hour work - everything lost

useless for serious work

Have used it quite a bit now. It's not entirely obvious to start with but if you play around with it for a while (using backed up files!) it soon feels pretty friendly. I use it for trimming and cutting up long recordings into mp3-player-friendly chunks with the "Save Split" function. Fairly limited, but if it can do what you want it's quick at doing it. Especially useful with long mp3 files (e.g. audiobooks) which would be enormous when coverted to WAV in the more sophisticated editors.
